If there is going to be a comparison between the two you cannot use the "Kosi was picked 2nd out of the two" when you have the direct link of priority v priority. But of course since Daisy would get owned like a school girl and Mario wouldn't even bother saving that Daveo decides "well the Pies have to win something right?"

I haven't voted and I'm not going to, but hey, I'll take a guy who can play ruck, ruck rover, CHB, CHF and FF over a guy who sporadically plays well and can run at pace.

Just had a look at the draft, it was the 2000 draft, not the 2001 draft that kosi was taken (according to wiki)
Quite a lot of good players there, alot not in the first round:
#18 D Kerr
#20 K Cornes
#23 D Petrie
#43 M Williams
#55 C Newman
#56 D Cross
#67 G Johncock

The draft that Daisy was taken does not look as good, however it must be noted that the players in that draft have only had a couple of year to show themselves. It may happen that some of them surpass the players mentioned above.

On another note, Essendon's first for that draft was #17 James Davies, who the truck is James Davies????

They are both second on the draft list Fly. Now I know you can count, so your just being picky about it and using the fact that it says priority next to Daisy's name to get out of admitting that the Saints arer crap drafters. It's pathetic.

Sorry about that Nicko, I got confused because 2001 was when Kosi debuted. Never heard of James Davies, sounds like another great first pick by the Dons .

But how bad would St Kilda feel looking at that list, can you imagine Daniel Kerr,Alan Didak or Mark Williams at the Saints, they would have a won a second flag by now for sure. Cornes,Petrie and Cross would also have been better pick ups than Kosi.

Probably would be willing to concede every player on this list besides Newman and Johncock since Kosi is KP or entirely integral to a team and these guys aren't despite being talents.



I'm merely pointing out inconsitencies with your argument, Kosi was not taken 2nd pick as you implied, nor was Daisy taken 2nd pick, Daisy was taken 2nd overall Pies 1st priority, Kosi was taken 2nd overall Saints 1st pick in the ND proper. Not "Kosi was taken 2nd so lets compare!"

As for crap drafters, Kosi = big man, general consensus = big man take a while to blossom, Kosi's career = numerous injury interrupted seasons thus hampering output & what he can do. I've said it before, this was really Kosi's first year that he played the majority of games, the other year being when he won the Rising Star, 2009 will the time that Kosi has to put his hand up and play consistently.

Dont know about winning a flag, they would have needed another tall forward who doesnt injure himself to manage that, and out of those only Petrie fits the bill. I dont think Didak or Williams would have won it for them. Both good players that play taller than they are, but do a better job not in a KP. Kerr and Cross probably would not have helped all that much, Saints midfield isnt that bad. I see Kerr similar to Dal Santo (a bit better though) and Cross similar to Ball or Hayes.

But bloody hel any of these guys would have been better than some unknown guy at #17

Yep, but we have to wait and see with some of the young guys picked in the last few years. So lader position in 2010 might be a good indication of a clubs drafting from 2000-2008.
